Dear Parent and/or Guardian,
Congratulations! Your Mountain View High School student is graduating! This is the 9th year that Mountain View High School has been open, and it is the 9th year that graduating Mountain View High School seniors can participate in the Senior Samaritan initiative. The very first Mountain View senior class was the first to take part in this initiative, and it has been a tremendous success year after year. Over 90,000 purposeful acts of kindness have been undertaken by participating Mountain View graduating seniors. Graduating seniors each voluntarily perform ten documented, purposeful acts of kindness on the Mountain View campus during the month of February. They complete the participation form as they go, and earn a beautiful MV Senior Samaritan medal that is worn at graduation! Mountain View faculty and staff sign off on each purposeful act of kindness that a senior completes in order to document the student’s participation. There is no cost to take part, and there is no minimum grade point average required. All graduating seniors are welcome to take part. Your student’s time, effort and energy are needed though! Graduating seniors will thus leave a lasting and positive impact on the culture and climate of Mountain View High School, and graduating seniors are recognized and rewarded with a medal for their benevolent efforts. Please encourage your graduating senior to attend the brief informational meeting on Wednesday, January 31, 2018 during all lunches and Bear Times. Graduating seniors will receive a participation form and instructions.
